Kicking off Walkathon 2016: I Love You, Hillbrook!

This year’s theme is an homage to the official song of our state, “I Love You, California,” written in 1913.

Each year, our students, parents, faculty, and staff gather to walk, jog, and enjoy an afternoon together in honor of professional development during our annual Hillbrook Walkathon. In addition to enjoying food, fun, and community, each student walks on behalf of his or her teachers and has an opportunity to raise pledges that directly benefit professional development.

Over the next four weeks, some of our teachers will be sharing via video the recent professional development experiences that have impacted, enhanced, and enriched student learning experiences for each of our students here at Hillbrook.

We are excited to kick off this year’s Walkathon, (“I Love You, Hillbrook!) with our first video, featuring 2nd Grade Resident Teacher Emily Sleasman.

We also asked some of our students, “what do you love most about your teachers?” Here are some of their responses:

“They’re always willing to help us.” – Doodle, ’16

“I love that they teach us something we don’t know.” – Mia, ’25

“They’re fun to be with.” – Nolan , ’16

“I love that they are always calm.” – Alice, ’25

We hope you will join us!
